Input To SubGraph

Hello again, CA list.

I am successfully using AU subgraphs which are internally a simple chain
of AUs headed by a generator unit. The subgraphs end with a generic
output unit, which is how I understand the subgraphs hook into their
parent AUGraph and have audio data pulled from them.

What I'm now wondering is how to use a subgraph which expects input, for
instance, topped by a fx unit instead of a generator. What would my top
fx AU within the subgraph connect to? What would the input equivalent be
to the subgraph role of the generic output?

Is there documentation or example code out there that I have not been able
to find? I only have the API info from the reference pages. This is all
ADC searches for "subgraph" turn up.

Thanks,

Xi
