on my iPhone I have been using Mrmr and Fantastick with Max/MSP and OSC to at least create Lemur like controls (which the possibility of Lemur like use of the iPad is without question the reason I will be getting one), but as Paul pointed out, I was thinking more GUI.

With Logic I know some plugins (I think only Logic native plugins) could run on another machine and display their GUI on the main system. I have not seen AU plugins that could do this (though I have not tried in a long time).

Issue 1 is different architecture. Not sure if that can be translated on the fly. And I am SURE a lot of plugins would not work since a lot of people do crazy stuff in their plugins.

Issue 2 is maybe in the future the AU specification will have other GUI provisions so people could provide an additional GUI or control surface to another device over wifi.

I just wanted to know if anyone had seen any plans to go down this path? I also figured eventually someone would release a keyboard WITH a display touchpad on it that would be useful for this. Not a huge display, but I could certainly see some great uses for it in the audio world.
