When I encountered this, it was because the plugin was being loaded from a command-line program that was to test them (similar to auvaltool). The reason this happened is because the program was not attached to the windowserver. I have a feeling what you are experiencing is not a "hang" (I bet you can still move the window around using command+drag on the window title bar) but a problem with the connection to the windowserver not being completely set up. I solved this on the command-line program with a call to TransformProcessType before I loaded the plugins. It seems that there must be a dock icon before the plugin, and therefore the PACE protection, is loaded (the dock icon means the windowserver connection is fully set up). While this may not be your exact problem, this may probably lead you down the right path. -J _______________________________________________
