I've noticed (and we even had one customer report!) that incoming text messages will cause audio volume to drop twice -- once for the alert sound, and then once again a moment later for no reason. At first I thought this must be some kind of intentional (if a bit strange) audio effect, but on second thought I'm wondering if there's an unintended side-effect going on here.
We're using audioQueue in offline-render mode and then shuffling the output to the remoteIO audio unit. So I'm wondering if the first volume drop (synchronized with the alert sound) is the remoteIO volume adjustment, and the second dip is manipulation of the samples we're spooling up in the offline render (which would then play a second or two after the interruption). Good guess, or crackpot theory? If I guessed right, I'll be happy to write up a radar.
Thanks,
