absolutely ... i would love to be able to run something that
"validates" ardour/mixbus behaviour. instead, we have to deal with
plugins that interpret the
initially-impressive-but-on-2nd-thoughts-rather-vacant documentation
for AU plugins in quite different ways. we have deal with "well, it
works with logic" and so that turns into the only real test that
anyone accepts. unfortunately, nobody outside of apple knows precisely
what logic is really doing (there's a limit to the detective work one
can do with a plugin), and so the "correct behaviour" for an AU host
is to be found mostly in emails to this list.
