Last time I checked there were no AU hosts to support this. I guess
it's a bit of an chicken-egg problem...
Considering the increasing number of VST plugins that make use of MIDI
output and the hosts that support it, I can't help but there seem to
be plenty of eggs already.
IMO it's definitely a lack of chicken. The ignorance is getting more
and more depressing and frustrating.
As a result, some vital features of our products (semi-automated
composition and arrangement) will not work on the CoreAudio platform
and we will probably have to tell our customers to use VST hosts, even
on the Mac. It's a shame.
