Ambient/mixable sessions: adjust volume of ambient source?

  • Subject: Ambient/mixable sessions: adjust volume of ambient source?

I'm trying to mix my own apps audio with ambient audio. Frequently
the ambient audio is too loud, such that when I mix in my audio I hear
clipping. If I reduce my audio to reduce the clipping, it's too soft
for the mix. Is there anyway to adjust the volume of the ambient
audio source? I see the ducking capability, but this would be far too
drastic. I just need a minor adjustment to avoid the clipping
distortion. Thank you for any advice.
