Lion-USB Class devices, non-mixable integer support?

Allison,

Last year three companies found that when using non-mixable (hog mode) integer support with USB Class Audio devices that a significant increase in resolution was found. They spent a good bit of time working on the programs and released three custom audio playback programs: Audivana, Decibel and Pure Music.

As hardware engineers we found a significant decrease in the overall processing time required by the CPU for these programs as they no longer had to do any FloatAudio computations.

It seems that Lion has deleted the entry for integer support in the Class Audio driver. What options do these developers have for direct integer support under Lion? Would it actually require us to write our own USB Class device driver?

Thanks
Gordon
