Hi,
We're working on an audio application that creates aggregate devices in order to perform full-duplex I/O with separate mics and outputs, e.g. so we can combine the default input device with the default output device. It's working well but we are encountering one simple problem: the Lexicon I-ONIX U42S (and presumably other devices out there as well) doesn't seem to support aggregation.
In Audio MIDI Setup if I create a new aggregate device myself, I'm not given the option of including it in the aggregate device. If I create one programmatically, it doesn't actually fail, and I can even start the device successfully. However if it's the input and the built-in sound card is the output, in the I/O proc the buffer list for input is empty.
Is there a way to tell whether a device supports aggregation (I think the Audio MIDI Setup might be using this itself to prevent me from attempting to aggregate it)?
Regards,
Jeremy
