Help interpreting device UID?

  • Subject: Help interpreting device UID?
  • From: Rick Mann <email@hidden>

The device I'm recording from has this UID:

	AppleUSBAudioEngine:Hanlincrest Ltd. :FUNcube Dongle V1.0 :24140000:1

All the Apple devices have tidy UIDs, like:

	AppleHDAEngineOutput:8,0,1,2:0

My question is, can I parse the UID to get meaningful information? 2414000 seems to match the location info given in USB Prober:

Full Speed device @ 4 (0x24140000): ............................................. Composite device: "FUNcube Dongle V1.0 "

If the "1" in the UID refers to the "1th" device (where the hub this thing's currently connected to is the 0th), the I may have a way to match the audio device to the IOHIDDeviceRef I have (I can get the same location info from that, I hope).

TIA,
Rick
