DC offset: true, but simpler to code and totally inaudible.
Spectrum: totally true.

Keep in mind: I'm the guy that suggested that the sampled sound would be much better.  I think all we've really proven is that my ears aren't that great.  If others' are similarly insensitive, though, then the solution might be easy.
