Patrick,

If you run auval, or look at the generic view for the AUHighShelfFilter, you will see that the range that the audio unit is publishing for cutoff frequency is 10,000 to 22,050. The AU does not support a lower cutoff frequency. It seems to me that the AU should return a param error if you set a value lower than this. I would assume that this is a bug in the AU and would encourage you to file one.

As far as the AUParametricEQ, the minimum Q value is 1.0. The range specified in the header comments is incorrect.
