ExtAudioFile audio format support

I'm using ExtAudioFile in several programs and I have 2 questions about the supporting file formats:

- Currently I'm using ExtAudioFile to read audio data from .mp4 files. So far this seems to work very well, but I'm wondering if this is really supported or if I'm relying on something that might fail 'in the field'.

- Recently I've had a request to support FLAC files. Is there a sanctioned way to extend the file format support of ExtAudioFile to FLAC?
