Scratch that -- you were right, the parameter is in the generic view. I didn't see it because I expected a drop down menu of discrete choices. Instead it is a continuous slider setting the float value, which is somehow mapped to the different pianos.

is to select the view your DAW auto-generates when you have the plugin
open, I know logic has this in a menu at the top of the plugin's
window. The auto-generated view will be of all the Parameters. If you
can do what you want through there, then programmatic control should
be totally possible.
And yes, Parameters is probably where you can find everything, though
you will have to use Properties to get the parameters, their ranges,
and their values, etc...
