input/output latencies and host time parameters in play/record interfaces

  • Subject: input/output latencies and host time parameters in play/record interfaces

input/output latency properties have appeared in the iOS6 version of audio session interfaces. When using the setRate:time:atHostTime: method of the AVPlayer class or the AudioQueueStart function of the Audio Queue Interface (considering the playing AND the recording thing), are these latencies taken into account ?

I mean, does the HostTime I give correspond to the moment when the sound comes out form the speaker, or should I compensate the latency ?
