Are you building a universal binary? I realized, too late, that using
ARC--which requires the modern runtime--means that I can only easily
build a 64 bit AU. It isn't so much of a problem until I want to run
in Live 8. Live 9 is 64 bit though. I hadn't thought too hard about
Garageband, but it would not surprise me in the least to find that it
is 32 bit only.
