Ok, please forgive my ignorance as I'm a beginner….

Learnings:
- I don't need the subType Stereo Mixer
- Just discovered the subType multiChannelMixer - noting that searching Xcode Documentation with search string "system-supplied audio units" does not list a multiChannelMixer
- After finding the multiChannelMixer, I discovered that there is an outputVolumeParameter that defaults to zero (muted). I don't see an mention of this in the docs

I'm finding that my biggest challenge is the inadequate and somewhat unorganized documentation.
