Indexed Parameters

If I declare a parameter to be indexed (ParameterInfo.unit = kAudioUnitParameterUnit_Indexed, with min and max values of 0 and 100) but do NOT implement GetParameterValueStrings,  does that guarantee a slider control rather than a menu?
