Player music through media player with app running

Hi,

I'm pretty new to CoreAudio.
I was trying to leave my app on and be able to switch to the music player by double clicking
the home button and swipe to the left of the dock, where I simply press play to start the current playlist.

However, with the audio session category set to AmbientSound, the music player UI on the dock
is disabled (grayed out). I found that I had to switch to MediaPlayback category to make it work. But
I'm not  sure if this is what I want. According to the documentation, AmbientSound should allow mixing
with sound from other apps, so I wonder where I did wrong.

Thanks,
BM
