Hi,
My application depends on a kernel extension that makes use of the AppleUSBAudioPlugin API as demonstrated in the SampleUSBAudioPlugin project.
Unfortunately, I've recently discovered in the newly-released 10.7.4 update that the AppleUSBAudio kext no longer contains an OSBundleCompatibleVersion key. Consequently, my extension cannot load because it can no longer declare a dependency on and link against AppleUSBAudio. (I've also filed a bug: #11427549).
I'm wondering what the suggested work-arounds for this issue might be. Is it feasible to custom-compile and distribute my own AppleUSBAudio driver? I've been extremely hesitant to do this in the past as it would seem to require tracking and maintaining different builds for different OS revisions.
I tremendously appreciate any suggestions — thanks very much in advance.
Regards,
Zach |
