you can ask but i can't tell you. apple privately communicated with a specific set of developers (i was not one of them). one of those developers forwarded apple's communication to me. i have no real idea how private they considered this communication. i am just pointing out that apple has recognized that user-land drivers are an area where they can/could/should provide a bit more ... something.
