Looks like you missed Bill Stewart's message yesterday explaining the situation. Apple made a boo-boo. However, it doesn't affect all plugins. Basically it seems like it will only affect plugins that are built against AU SDK files that are from pre-10.6, which it sounds like it might be the case for you. That's the case for us.
First step - file a bug. Bill indicated they may try to do a software update that fixes the problem, but that probably won't happen unless users like you and I file bugs.
Then you could try upating your AU SDK files, or just directly supporting the one call in question. See Bill's email for details of the call that is failing.

I would think that since I'm largely based off straight Apple AU template code with few variations, no GUI layer at all, and no installer, if anyone would make it through this situation unscathed it would be me. If my stuff fails, the example 'Gain' plugin would fail too.

One of my most notable users, who is currently working with the single most notable producer in the world, is using Audio Units on Reaper on a PPC machine. That's a pretty high profile use of Audio Units... any solution to maintaining compatibility with Apple host software going forward has to also play nice with my userbase...
