generator audio unit or user-land audio driver for network send/receive

  • Subject: generator audio unit or user-land audio driver for network send/receive

I need to send and receive audio over the network from and to hardware units.

Is there a benefit to creating a generator audio unit vs a user-land
audio driver?

I see that AirPlay, for example, is implemented as the latter.

    Thanks, Joel
