Handling pull-ups in a CoreAudio driver

  • Subject: Handling pull-ups in a CoreAudio driver

Scenario: CoreAudio driver running at given sample rate (say 48k). I'm trying to support "pull-ups", eg running the device at an actual rate of 48k + 4.16%.

Under 10.6, it seems to be happy that the nominal and actual clock rate are off by a little bit. Under 10.8, I get data errors every buffer pass.

I can't find any documentation that allows a CoreAudio driver to notify CoreAudio that its 48k clock isn't actually at 48k. Does a mechanism exist? How do I access it? What is the preferred solution?

Thanks
