I asked this earlier this year but got no reply. Perhaps someone can help me.
I'm using RegisterComponentFileRef() in my app to register bundled AudioUnits, so they will be found later by calls to AUGraphAddNode().
It seems that RegisterComponentFileRef() [as part of the component manager] is deprecated in OS X 10.8.
The API in AudioUnit/AudioComponent.h doesn't seem to have a suitable replacement.
Which API replaces RegisterComponentFileRef on 10.8?
