kAudioDevicePropertyIcon and userland driver?

Hi there

We need a custom icon for our device in Audio MIDI Setup (and other apps). We previously used the kAudioDevicePropertyIcon and, as far as I know, this property is not deprecated.
However, it's never checked.
What can we do to have our specific icon displayed again?
