I'm not sure exactly where I should direct questions like this. Maybe someone can point me to the right location, if this isn't a good place?
I've trying to test our AudioUnits plug-in (component-based, using the auwrapper of the VST3 SDK), but am unable to run Logic on my newer Mac. I've tried in both my 10.7.5 partition and my 10.8.5 partition, but in both cases, Logic 9.1.7 pre-release crashes. (This is downloaded from my Apple Dev account.) Logic first asks for my name and company and serial code (the first time, or if I trash the files in the Preferences folder), then asks what kind of project I want to create, and after I select an option, it works for a few seconds, then simply vanishes!
In later attempts, it crashes with no dialog of any sort appearing. It crashes if I hold down the Control key and answer No to the question if I want to load the Core Audio drivers also. And there's never any dialog asking if I want ti Ignore or Report the crash to Apple. It simply vanishes. I don't see any log file, either, (but I'm not sure exactly where or what to look for in that regard).
I assume my serial code is fine, since it accepts it without complaint. (I'm using the one from my copy of Logic Studio 2.0 NFR.) But could that serial code be expired or something? Wouldn't it tell me so, and not just close the app with no error or anything? (If you're using the pre-release build for debugging/testing, where did YOU get the serial code that you entered?)
I'd appreciate any help here, if possible. Web searches haven't given me any solutions that panned out. (Deleting those Preferences files, or not letting it load the Core Audio driver, for example.)
Thanks,
Howard
