I guess that there are two problems :

First, Core Audio is really changing actually. Read this information to know how to update Filter Demo :

Second, before there was a folder "Developer" on the Mac where you cold find the AU classes. This folder has disappeared. I needed to copy the AU files inside my old project when I updated XCode for the last time.
I was lucky, I kept a copy of these files. You should find them in the Developers Member Center support.
