I have a working virtual audio driver, aka HAL plugin, for a networked device.
It works fine, generally, even though I wrote the whole thing using
ObjC and GCD.
I'm currently trying to work out some occasional dropped buffer
glitches. Not sure if it's me or Audacity, for example.
I do have a real problem with recording in one application while
streaming from another. It seems like CoreAudio is sending me
zero-samples to output even though I'm just recording. These
zero-samples get mixed up with the sound streamed from the other app
to a bizarre effect.
Just a data point ;-).
