Guys, I'm dying here. I'm taking private lessons in modeling AC circuits with a really important guy who asked me if I could start writing AUs this week. I'd written an AU or two for fun a long time ago so I figured it would be no problem to get up and running again with Xcode 4.6.3 and 10.8.4
NOPE.
I don't remember this being so hard. All I need is to find a method where I can shove in some audio code and hit compile… nothing fancy. What's the quickest way there? Anyone have a generic Xcode 4 project I could use?
details: I'm looking for noob information and EVERYTHING seems to be out of date (for older Xcodes and 10.xs ). Every tutorial makes references to the /Developer folder. The core audio SDK seems not to exist. Then I found out the developer folder was in the Xcode bundle, but it has no examples. Then I found MyGreatAUEffectWithCocoa on the apple website, compiled it but it won't show up in garageband. I've also found incredibly long guides to recreating the lost AU Xcode template but amazingly, they don't have downloads. It's been hours upon hours of this. The examples from SampleAUs.zip and TremeloUnit.zip compile but they aren't showing up in my audio unit list, even after trashing com.apple.compenents cache. and logging out and in again.
I don't understand how on earth this could be so hard. -Matt
