Another resource would be the app notes for any of the DSP cores, both TI and Motorola used to publish source code for building blocks such as filters and compressors and even a reverb I think.

The one that got me started was a phase vocoder in the back of one of the AES anthologies. I'll try to find that one too.

Oh, and there was a development kit that I think Analog Devices sold for one of their chips that came with a fantastic cook book.

There are certainly others, but those come to mind first. Well, those, and of course Google<G>!
