CoreMIDI USB speed iOS vs. OSX

Hi,

I’m crosscompiling an app for OSX/iOS which makes heavy use of MIDI SysEx to talk to specific hardware via class-compliant USB-MIDI.
Data transfer rates are much higher on OSX than on iOS when sending via CoreMIDI’s SendMIDI(3), and also when receiving data (passing a C callback to MIDIInputPortCreate(3)).

Is there a way to crank up send/receive speeds on iOS? How about OSX, can I go even faster?
