Playing While Downloading?

I've got a little specialized podcast player app. It uses AVAudioPlayer to play MP3 files. But that requires me to have the whole file downloaded to start playing. I'd like to play the file as I download it. What's the right API to use to do that? Do I just feed chunks of MP3 data to some chain of audio components (MP3 decoder, audio output channel) as they download?
