Enabling volume balance control

  • Subject: Enabling volume balance control

Hi,

I am a Core Audio newbie, trying to write a driver with reference to NullAudio sample. My device is a stereo output device and I need to provide volume balance control for it. I am having a little trouble in enabling volume balance (e.g. in System Preferences / Sound Output). To support volume balance, should I need to apply volume to left and right channels independently? or should I need to implement stereo pan control property?

Any hints / tips are much appreciated.

Thank you.

Regards,
Raveeshwara S
