Aggregate device options

I have a couple questions about aggregate devices.

1. What effect does changing kAudioSubDevicePropertyDriftCompensationQuality have?

2. What quality level does an aggregate device created with Audio MIDI Setup use? I don’t see any UI that exposes this property.

3. What happens if drift compensation is enabled on the device that is the clock source for the aggregate device?

Audio MIDI Setup’s Help and this support document (http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202000) give different advice for wether or not drift compensation should be enabled on the clock source device or not. To me it make sense that drift compensation should be DISABLED on the clock source device.

The effect of aggregate device properties is very hard to determine via experimentation.
