In iOS, you can set your preferred buffer duration with AVAudioSession, and this has some influence on it. I'm not sure if this is possible on Mac OS, but the take away is that the buffer size is determined by the host process.

Hi,

when I set a render callback on an Audio Unit, is there any possibility to influence how often the callback is called per second (=> how big the size of the provided Audio Buffer will be)?

Thanks a lot,
Larissa
