Hmm, OK thanks. Seek and ye shall find, I
found this:
http://www.ele.uri.edu/courses/ele546/AudioUnitHostingGuideForiOS.pdf
Seems to fit the bill, I should have looked a bit harder in the
first place. I assume that it's the same on iOS and OS X. If you
know that it's not, please correct me.
Thanks for the link, and I'm sorry that my first post was a bit
flippant. I must cut that out, it's just stupid.
Your rant? Worth a shot I suppose, one has to try.
I see Ardour has a plugin blacklist. Presumably, (sorry, I'm far
to lazy to read the code) you log the plugin just before you try
to load it (and every time you call it??? - surely not),
and if it crashes on you, you blacklist it when
you next start up. Well OK, if needs must.
Tedious though, I'll have to provide a UI for that, add it the
helpfile and whatnot. Yuk. Double yuk. Horrible. No wonder
you're irritated. Apple should put these plugins in some kind of
sandbox. Not possible for us, I suppose, working at the
application level, but if you see a way, please share.
Regards - Paul Sanders.
