Format not Supported with AUSplitter (also: MultiSplitter?)

  • Subject: Format not Supported with AUSplitter (also: MultiSplitter?)

I'm trying to build an AUGraph using kAudioUnitSubType_Splitter, but I get -10868 returned from AUGraphInitialize(). All nodes are using the default format of 44.1 kHz stereo 32-bit float.

If I replace the Splitter with a MatrixMixer, the graph initializes correctly. So, I'm not really sure what "format" is not supported.

Is there any documentation on the limitations of AUSplitter, other than it being fixed to 2 output elements?

p.s. I see in the headers that there is supposed to be a MultiSplitter than can handle more than 2 output elements, and that would be really helpful (I'm building a 26-band filter bank). Unfortunately, AUMultiSplitter does not exist on Yosemite, at least not according to auval. When did the MultiSplitter appear, and where is it available?
