Hi Bill-
As the person who sent you to this list in the first place, now that I
have been able to take a better look at your question, I've got to ask:
Just out of curiosity, did she try to link against simply libc on the
Darwin box in place of glibc? If she already ported the code to AIX,
the source should be fairly non-platform specific already.

One of our UNIX programmers is starting on a project I'm partially
funding to port SecurID services to OS X. She is working with
people from RSA and has previously ported the same stuff to AIX
and others. She almost immediately ran into a brick wall, as
noted below. I find it hard to believe that there isn't a work
around, since the error message seems, on its face, to be pretty
fundamental.
Anyone here know of a solution?
Thanks,
Bill

HI Bill,
This is what I'd hoped to find - the GNU C libraries (aka glibc) for
Darwin. This particular project never got off the ground.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/glibc-darwin/
The error encountered when building glibc from scratch on the mac is:
*** The GNU C library is currently not available for this platform.
*** So far nobody cared to port it and if there is no volunteer it
*** might never happen. So, if you have interest to see glibc on
*** this platform visit
*** http://www.gnu.org/software/libc/porting.html
*** and join the group of porters
Sally
