I have run into problem trying to build a c++ package. This used to build for me about 3 months ago, but when I tried this week, it failed. Since the last successful build, I have installed the November Dev Tools update and I suspect the problem may have something to do with the new ld.

The problem occurs at static link time with an error similar to
ld: foo.o malformed object (stray relocation PAIR entry (1) in section (__TEXT,__eh_frame))
being issued for each linked symbol.

I managed to find the same error posted by Shantonu Shen on the web at:
http://paste.lisp.org/display/2518
Unfortunately this is just an image attached to an IRC message which is some 3 months old and I can't get the context.

Does anyone know what causes this?

Bill Northcott
