LD malformed object...

I hope this is the right list to post  a question about an ld(1) problem. I
have tried (so far unsuccessfully) to get to the Unix-porting list.

I am moving some old Unix tools to OSX, and have nicely compiled my code
into a library that apparently is unusable :-(

Here is my error:

ld: ../libTest.a malformed object (section (__TEXT,__eh_frame) no symbol at
start of coalesced section


I've seen some other references to similar 'malformed object' messages - but
nothing that explains what is going or, nor what I should do?

Comments anyone?
