I'd rather slap Apple for having an ancient, weird binary format and
toolchain that makes them so hard to support.

Its no wonder MacOSX specific brokenness creeps into OpenSource
projects where the primary development is on non-MacOSX platforms.
Speaking as somebody who maintains the MacOSX portion of a large
project which is built and compiled on many OSes (N versions of Linux,
Solaris, FreeBSD, etc), supporting MacOSX's Mach-O is a major PITA.
Anything having to do with shared or static libraries needs to be
special cased, and is easily broken by other developers who work on
linux or solaris and don't test on macosx.
One of the things I was really hoping for in the move to x86 was Apple
moving to more modern binary format like ELF. But I guess that won't
happen..
