Why can't I build?

So can anybody tell me why this doesn't download any of the sources?

annie:/Volumes/BuildRoot robert$ sudo bin/darwinbuild rsync 20 *** Fetching Sources ... *** Copying Sources ... tar (child): /Volumes/BuildRoot/Sources/rsync-20.tar.gz: Cannot open: No such file or directory tar (child): Error is not recoverable: exiting now tar: Child returned status 2 tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

...

It doesn't try to download anything.
