Kevin,
    You answer brings up the following question. When Panther shipped, gcc-3.3
had only had a short 10.2 based release. So I assume the original MacOS X
10.3 release was built with gcc-3.1 despite the presence of the updated
gcc-3.3 compiler as default. Does anyone know how much of Panther was
eventually rebuilt with gcc-3.3 by the time of the final update (10.3.9)?
Did they ever build the kernel with gcc-3.3 and how many updates later
was that transition?
