There also seems to be issues with "< /dev/null" from the generated build scripts.
Please include specific error messages (the first time you report, I'm tired of always having to ask you).

I've built and installed perl-25.2.tar.gz but something isn't right.
It appears to run fine with the exception that when I install modules they're going to a bad location.
If I manually move the files everything appears to function as expected and the modules are recognized however I shouldn't have to go through the extra file moves.
What is the bad location? Where are you moving them to that works? (Where are you moving them from?) Again, please include enough information for your issue to be diagnosed.

You can also file a bug on darwinbuild:
Shantonu is correct. The darwinbuild list is the best place for this discussion. We also actively use bugzilla, and filing a bug there is helpful for us to be able to track outstanding issues with DarwinBuild.

Asking me to jump through hoops in the hopes that someone may consider looking into the problem six months down the road has no appeal, that is wasted effort and time.
Absolutely wrong. You're the one asking for help, and we're attempting to assist you. You do need to make the initial investment in providing enough information if you want someone to take the time to assist you.

It would not be a waste of your time. It enables us to effectively track outstanding issues. Conversely, we could ask "explain to us why we should waste our time fixing your problem when you're not willing to file a bug report or converse with us in an amicable manner?"
Today is Sunday--I have the day off. I happen to have some time to investigate DarwinBuild issues, but I also wouldn't mind eating potato chips and watching TV. Believe it or not, your attitude has a large impact on whether I decide to do the former or the latter.
If you post the answers to the questions at the top of this email on the DarwinBuild mailing list, or file a bug in bugzilla, then I will investigate this matter further.
