Hi,

I have an 'usb to rs232' adaptor and can't seem to make a /dev device appear for it. It is listed in the IORegisteryExplorer, but no device seems to have been created for it. I hoping to use it with minicom for some embedded device work, but I am a little stuck.

Any suggestions?

Did the device come with a Mac OS X driver? That's a necessary piece for virtually all USB-serial adapters to work on the platform. Only if the device conforms to the USB communications class spec might it work without a driver.
