kqueue - supported filesystems?

The kqueue man page says:

Not all filesystem types support kqueue-style notifications. And even some that do, like some remote filesystems, may only support a subset of the notification semantics described here.

Which filesystems are supported?

How can I determine at runtime whether a file system is supported? (And if the notification semantics are what I need?)
