OpenDarwin's got a version that includes an -aehfs flag which nicely
handles extended HFS metadata, and it seems to default to handling
resource forks properly (no flags needed), as far as i can
determine. It's easy to checkout via CVS. I also tweaked the
Makefile to build a universal binary of it - if you're interested in
trying it out, I'll mail you a copy. It looks like you're likely to
stress test it more than i will.
Cheers,
JT

I've even been using the version that went out today on some of my
own machines for awhile now without encountering this error...
Is the source for rsync-23 available somewhere?
