Okay, maybe I figured it out. Looks like the dependencies are incomplete, and the TimClient framework might not even be OpenSource. But I finally managed to get the daemon to build so I guess I'm good.
TimClient is not open source, but it is only used for legacy purposes anymore anyway (for a password type that was used on Mac OS X Server 10.0 and 10.1). When you compile from source the code which references it is #ifdef'ed out.
How did you resolve the error above? We should get the dependencies fixed in darwinbuild... (I had not tried building DirectoryServiceDaemon, just DirectoryService so I hadn't noticed this before.)
