Well, how are you getting the drive objects in the first place? Do you use IOServiceGetMatchingServices() or IOServiceAddMatchingNotification()? sorry if i haden't been clear, but getting the actual drives (to do the check) is no problem...i've already adapted my code based on the differences of the IORegistry of PowerPC and Intel macs.the problem is doing the actual S.M.A.R.T. check, i.e. i'm quite sure the routine PrintSMARTData() in doesn't work if it gets passed an kIOAHCIBlockStorageDevice instead of an kIOATABlockStorageDevice as expected. thanks, juliian |
